Black Dots; triangles; hash lines what do they all mean??

• black triangular points mark the 1/4in. measurement, along the entire length; top & bottom.
• the base of each black triangle marks 1/4in. from the edge of the ruler.
• the black dots running down the centre, mark every 1/4in.
•  Each Black Dot is 1/8in. wide.
• the vertical row of black dots mark the 1/2in. measurement
• each dot is 1/4in. away from the centre dot.
• 1 Red Diamond marks the 3in. measurement
• 2 red diamonds mark the 6in. centre measurement
•  In between all these marks are smaller hash lines, they are your 1/8in. mark
