Gold Plating

410501

4105 AutoAir: Gold Plating is 6061 - T6 Aluminum, a highly reflective, aircraft-grade aluminum.

Spray directly from the bottle. Gold Plating has excellent adhesion direct to any surface and can be applied direct to glossy, non-sanded surfaces such as powder-coat, urethane finishes, plastics, and any substrate.

Apply Gold Plating in very light coats. It's essential that some of the gloss base be visible through the Gold Plating even on the direct view. It cannot be stressed enough how lightly this product  is to applied; too much and the brilliant gld plating effect is lost.

Apply over a gloss white base for a vivid, billet gold.

Apply over a gloss black base for a deep, orange-shade gold..

Be patient! Like any special effect paint let it cure! The gold plating effect will only get better once cured!

  • Do Not Reduce
  • Easy to apply
  • Very durable
  • Apply over a gloss black surface, such as 4258 Auto-Air Gloss Black.
  • Clean up with 5618 Airbrush Cleaner
  • Once cured it can be cleared

For best results: it should be applied, over high gloss with or black Smooth finish. Apply in light "mist" coats, building up slowly until you should still see the gloss base straight on.

Anodized Colors - Mix Gold Plating 1:1 Candy2O for a true, brilliant anodized color.

Cool!

Gold plating has a neat effect, at least on my fingers when I touched it. It seems to have a lot of depth to it and could add some neat character to line work. It’s completely different than the gold base or gold by etac that I’ve used, it’s almost like the created flair shift paint
