Usage and Technical Data Information: 4008 Restorer

Water-Based Cleaner VOC 36.1 g/L Reg. Contains Ethyl Alcohol

Description: 4008 Restorer is a biodegradable cleaner for removing cured paint from an airbrush, spray-gun and any surface.

Usage: 4008 is used as a bath to soak metallic parts in. 4008 may also be wiped onto paint-covered parts. 4008 partially dissolves cured, water-based paint allowing for easy clean-up with soap and water.

4008 begins to dissolve cured paint upon contact. After a minimum of 10 minutes, cured paint should be easy to scrub off with soap and water. Parts may soak in 4008 for an extended time. It is OK to soak parts overnight after painting, cleaning and rinsing the following day.

Flush with water thoroughly after cleaning with 4008. Even trace amounts of 4008 will affect paint. After flushing with water, spraying with 5618 Airbrush Cleaner or 4011/4013/ will acclimate the airbrush or spray-gun for paint.

Do not spray 4008 through the airbrush or spray-gun. Use as a soak* or wipe onto the cured paint. Use 5618 Airbrush Cleaner or 4011 as a rinse to clean colors from airbrush or spray-gun while painting.

*4008 dissolves soft plastics. Keep away from stencils, soft plastics and O-rings other than polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated rings. 4008 is safe to use with harder plastics such as styrene.

Pot-Life & Storage

4008 does not have a pot-life. It may be used multiple times for repeated cleanings as a bath even after the liquid has become dis-coloured.

Keep in a metallic or ceramic container, such as a coffee mug, with a cover. For long term storage, keep air tight in a cool dry box or cabinet away from sunlight.

Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after use. Do not ingest.

When spraying or sanding, use a properly-fitting NIOSH approved respirator per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Skin contact: Thoroughly wash with soap and warm water. Wearing gloves is recommended.

Airbrush Restorer

I had no idea how gummed up my air brush was.
I soaked the parts in a container and dipped the end of the airbrush up to the bowl and what came out was unbelievable.
I used the airbrush once more and thought I had a new airbrush

Great cleaning power

Excellent for removing stubborn paint including activated clearcoat out of airbrushes. Keep away from any rubber seals as this will destroy them.
