Steve Young: Owner operator of Tombstone Airbrush and Tombstone Tattoo, located in Stony Plain, Alberta. Drawing since I was a child , taking commercial art in high school , always drawing and diving into different mediums , I became an auto body technician as a career which led me into custom painting , as well as exposure to the bike and car culture , I started airbrushing in early 2003 , I was lucky to be able to seek the knowledge of a now good friend , Dave Thomas who was clearly the leading airbrush artist in the Edmonton area at the time, I spent hours learning from him what it takes to be a professional artist, it was then I knew what I wanted to be a professional artist , I airbrushed night and day any chance I could. I was so in love with it, and still am to this day, my main focus and strong suit seems to be portraits and realism much as my mentor (Dave Thomas ) Tombstone Airbrush was my prime focus for many years, taking on massive projects from semi trucks to wall murals and race cars , the bulk of my work was in the Harley market lots and lots of custom paint what an amazing customer base I was lucky to have , it was in 2015 I was offered a tattoo apprenticeship though Jer papove at Smash Tattoo , he took me under his wing and once again showed me what it takes to be a successful artist in the tattoo industry, although my main focus is now tattooing as a means of living , all of my personal art time is done with my airbrush mainly focusing on personal projects of large scale canvases , for what ever reason to this day finishing a painting still makes me feel like I’m on top of the world....
