Mission Models: Black Primer

MMP Primer is a 2-part system that must be activated using MMP Thinner. Because the MMP Primer is is more viscous than our paint, it must be reduced with the MMP Thinner. Once thinned, the Primer is activated and ready to use. There are no tricks, follow the formula below, adjust depending on need, and spray.  DO NOT add MMP Polyurethane Mix Additive to the primer.

MMP Primer can ONLY be mixed with MMP Thinner for proper activation (no substitutions). You will find a durable and level finish that requires no sanding unless you have certain requirements. The MMP Primer will not hide the finest of details and dries to the touch in 15-20 minutes.

Recommended Ratio: 3-4 Drops MMP Thinner to 10 Drops MMP Primer. Generally add 30% thinner to primer.

took about 3 coats after a 4050 primer to achieve the desired level of coating i wanted for my project. Worked really good, would highly recommend to all painters

Black Primer

I am very happy with the black primer. I have used the primer as both a primer and as a paint when I was out of black paint. I found after applying a colour over the primer, the primer assists in creating shadows along panel lines for weathering affects. I did notice MMP Bronze Green for British AFV took to the black primer with better effects than the white primer and gave the Bronze Green a darker appearance.
