Tire Black 1
I really enjoy Tire Black 1, I found the paint mixed with poly and thinner, as per manufactures recommendation, sprays very nicely. I use the colour for military vehicle tires and tank road wheels which IMHO works well to represent rubber at scale. I have found the paint works will with Mission Models Transparent Dust. The paint works will with other manufactures weathering products.
The colour Tire Black worked great, mixed with black paint,it gave my ho structure roof, a weather beaten effect.
Took a little getting used to - My technique involves 'Black Basing' (priming in black), so I found I got better results with thinner paint. For tires, once primed, certain areas of the tire are targeted with thin coats of the tire black to give it a used look. This is followed by a careful application of dust. Any dusty colour will do, but I prefer MMP-016 RAL 7027 Sandgrau (1 paint to 3 or 4 thinner), or MMP-086 US Army Sand FS 30277 mixed with white (3 Sand to 1 white) thinned 1 paint to 3 or 4 thinner. The last application is Tire Black thinned to 1 paint to 4 thinner and sprayed as a post-shade around the edge of the rim. Apply some oil paints and/or pigments to finish things off. Even these thin dust coats of paint are very durable (notice there is no Poly in these mixes!) and the atomization is perfect.
