4040 Bleed Checker is used as an inter-coat to protect underlying airbrush paint layers from bleeding into subsequent layers.  Use over Candy2O Airbrush colors or other water-based products  to prevent the dyes from bleeding (bleed-back) into subsequent layers or clear-coats.

  • Apply straight from the bottle, however it may be reduced with 4011
  • .50 needle nozzle combination recommended.
  • Thoroughly dry before layering other colors on top
  • may be applied direct without scuffing.

Awesome

For Fish taxidermy I use 4040 as a topcoat to lock down for example tipping the back scales with gold “pearlex” powders or any other media’s that’s going on top of my Createx paints. I found Krylon acrylic aerosol gloss sprayed on top of createx to lock tipping will “melt” the Createx paint away. Createx 4040 saved the day! .... also the best gloss for fish is Createx 4050. Will look matte a little after spray on but wait a couple hours for a gloss far superior of any aerosol can gloss typically used for the final wet look.
