  • Small, Medium & Large nozzles for the Flake King 1000 Spray Gun
This Kit will set you up with the ability to apply dry flake ranging from large surface areas, with our Flake King 1000, right down to fine pinstriping with our Flake King 500 Airbrush Converter.

This dry metal flake applicator is used by many professional and hobby custom painters worldwide.

Why apply the Metal Flake dry?

  • Minimizes the amount of flake you use
  • Reduces the volume of catalyzed clear that you use
  • Reduces the risk of clear coat failure & potential “sagging” of flake and clear
  • Increases speed significantly – we’re talking by days for a large job
  • Improves the clean-up process – because the flake is dry when applied, it simply brushes up/off
  • Reduces risk of cross contamination of future paint jobs
  • Because you have a dry metal flake gun, there is no longer flake in your clear coat gun again reducing the risk of flake ending up in future paint jobs

Flake King apply named

I bought this after reading previous reviews and I could not be happier. The airbrush attachment works well on its own, but the Flake gun with the attached air regulator works unbelievably well. The difference was so noticeable that I will never use the airbrush attachment again. The gun lays down flake fast. You can blast a skate deck in under 10 seconds. The 5050 UVLS clear works well with the flake gun but you will need to do multiple coats ( of 5050 base) if you want to blast on the flake. Based on how well the flake gun works using the 5050 I cannot wait to shoot flake into fresh clear coat. I suspect that is were this gun will excel.
Being able to turn the air off at the flake reservoir means you can use the flake gun as a dryer for water based paints or to force the flake flat into the clear coat.
This is by far the easiest way to lay down flake. So easy, in fact, that you will be trying to find an excuse to put Flake on all your projects.
