Hardener is an additive used in Alphaanamel paints to enhance durability, gloss, and chemical resistance. Here’s when you should consider using it:

1. Durability Needs

• High-Traffic Areas: Use hardener when the painted surface will be subjected to heavy handling, wear, or cleaning, such as on helmets, motorcycles, or signage.
• Outdoor Use: If the paint will be exposed to weather conditions, UV light, or chemicals, the hardener helps protect it.

2. Improved Finish

• Glossy Finish: If you want a shinier, more professional finish, hardener can help achieve this.
• Leveling and Flow: Hardener can improve the flow and leveling of the paint, reducing brush strokes or spray inconsistencies.

3. Faster Curing Time

• Time-Sensitive Projects: Adding hardener accelerates the curing process, making it useful when quick handling is necessary.

4. Compatibility with Clear Coats

• If you're planning to apply a urethane clear coat over your Alphaanamel, adding hardener ensures compatibility and reduces the risk of wrinkling or peeling.

How to Use:

1. Mixing Ratio: Typically, use the manufacturer’s recommended ratio. For Alphaanamel, this is often around 10% hardener to paint by volume.
2. Mix Thoroughly: Stir well to ensure the hardener is evenly distributed.
3. Pot Life: Once mixed, the paint will have a limited pot life, usually a few hours, depending on the hardener and environmental conditions.
